Excerpts From Lodge Minutes
May 21, 1928 - Motion made and seconded that the Lodge buy the CAssanova Building and Lot for $1000.00 or less, provided the title is clear.
June 18, 1928 - Resolution in connection with financing Masonic Building recently purchased was read and adopted. Brother Briggs, who handled the selling of notes to assist in financing the new Masonic Building, made the following report: 114 notes at $10.00 each, bearing 6% interest from date June 1st 1928, were sold. Of this amount, $1,125.00 was applied on note executed by Building Committee to Pascagoula Bank, $11.67 was paid as interest on said note and the balance of $3.33 was turned over to the Secretary.
October 21, 1928 - Motion that a letter of thanks be sent to the Order of Eastern Star for paying taxes for 1929.
April 4, 1938 - Motion prevailed that committee be appointed to ventilate building and eliminate noise. George Rigby, Robert Lyon and W. F. Fletcher appointed.
March 5, 1956 - Motion made by C. J. Lander, seconded by C. V. Savage, that a committee be appointed to decide whether or not a lot should be purchased for the construction of a new Hall on Market Street. Committee was composed of E. J. Smith and G. E. Cowart.
August 6, 1956 - Brother Gonzales moved that the trustees be authorized to purchased from the Estate of Morris Brown, or agent, that land situated at the northwest corner of the intersection of South Market Street and East Convent Avenue.
October 6, 1958 - Brother E. J. Smith moved to build permanent barbeque pit on Market Street lot, seconded and carried.
February 2, 1959 - Brother E. J. Smith reported ground breaking services set for Tuesday, February 3rd, at 4:30 P.M. (Ground breaking actually occurred on February 5th.)
May 2, 1959 - Cornerstone laid by Grand Master Grover H. Anderson, principal address delivered by Judge L. C. Corban, Past Grand Master.
September 9, 1959 - Resolution to sell old Lodge property on Delmas Avenue adopted.
January 4, 1960 - Last meeting in Lodge Hall on Delmas Avenue.
January 14, 1960 - At Special Communication, Grand Master Grover H. Anderson installed Lodge Officers in the new Lodge Hal on Market Street. The meeting was a Joint Installation with Pascagoula Chapter No. 151 Order of the Eastern Star.
April 3, 1961 - Brother E. J. Smith moved that the Building Committee be discharged and the building be turned over to the Lodge Trustees. The motion carried.
March 4, 1968 - Brother M. R. Brett moved that we have tow barbecues per year; additional barbeques may be at discretion of Worshipful Master with approval of the Lodge; and that twenty-five percent of the profits be given to the Eastern Star Chapter. The motion was carried.
January 5, 1970 - Brother Walter Smith advised that approximately $190,000 had been disbursed by the Grand Lodge from its Hurricane Relief Fund.
